a disclaimer |
Before i begin i wish to point out that Harry Potter does not belong to me. I am in no way affiliated with or endorsed by J.K. Rowling, Scholastic, or Warner Brothers. I am not doing this for money but in the hopes of promoting the Harry Potter franchise. I am, i hope, free advertising. That said i would like to welcome all of you to peruse this webpage with a few things in mind. Everything i've written is--quite obviously--my opinion. I write as if what i say is factual because i can't and won't take the time to apologize or include a "i think" and/or "i believe" every other sentence. Please realize that these reviews/analyses are written by a Christian who is including discussions of her faith. I cannot read these books without noticing how the incredibly complex characters and plotlines intersect with and strengthen my beliefs. The entire point of my writing about said discoveries is to share them with others. Lastly, i know i will offend others with what i am about to write, but so be it. Not all Christians are for Harry Potter by a long shot, but i am, and i believe God wants me to be reading these books. On the other side of the issue i'm sure that i will offend some real witches / pagans / non-believers (not to label you, but to mention that i realize our differences) but i am a firm believer that 1 - Rowling is a Christian, and 2 - she wrote and is writing the Harry Potter books with Christian themes intentionally woven throughout. With that said, i hope that you, the reader, enjoys what i have to say and that it's thought-provoking... if not enjoyable. |
