Then she felt her body growing warm again. She was falling very quickly, faster than she had ever floated downwards before. She could move again, but her body felt even heavier. The beautiful cup she was sitting in was cracking. Her weight and the velocity were too much for it to withstand. So Tilly wrapped her wings up in the strings that her sisters and brothers had tied. It was extremely difficult, but she cut the strings with her claws, and the cup fell away, shattering into jagged pieces. Tilly felt even heavier now, was falling so quickly. She saw sparks as she and the balloon fell. All of the moon-air was gone now, and the earth-air that was filling the fabric could not slow down her descent quickly enough. Tilly fell into the darker space.
